The association of foreign students in Russia

Initiated by the foreign students training in Russia “Association of foreign students” has been created with the help of higher educational establishments and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation. Necessity of Association relates with the aspiration of the foreign students to be united for the discussion and solution of some problems concerning their life, study, rest, development of an intellectual and cultural level, sport, medical care and legal and social protection. The Association of foreign students is the public, nonpolitical, noncommercial organization. Today it unites about 89 thousand foreign citizens from 162 countries of the world training in different educational establishments of the Russian Federation. One the priority directions of activity of the Association is to inform of the Russian citizens and world community about position of the foreign students and work of their organizations by means of mass media, and also to provide the foreign students with grant, material and legal help. The Association organizes cultural and sports actions, assists high school with preparation and a recruitment of students, promotes improvement of the statutory acts and the documents defined a legal status of the foreign students in the Russian Federation. The great attention in activity of Association is paid to an establishment and development of communications with associations of graduates of the Russian educational institutions, creation of own databank, sociological polls and so on.
