Regardless of warnings, it’s not more dangerous to go to Moscow than other large cities of the world. Certainly, there are certain risks, as well as everywhere. It is necessary to observe the standard security measures which you used at home.
Be cautious!
- When you come back a hostel (apartment) late at night, try to not attract attention: don’t speak loudly in English, don’t swing money or valuable things.
- If you come out in the evening, try to keep with group and be convinced, that someone see you to the door.
- It is not recommended to come out by ones after 23 hours.
- Sometimes small streets have bad illumination; therefore try to go along the shined streets.
- Do not take with itself more cash, than it is necessary for you per day - pocket thefts are frequent in the underground.
- Do not contact suspicious people. Do not let them involve yourself in adventures.
- Try to not leave territory of a hostel late in the evening. If you come back a hostel late, it is better to take a taxi.
- It’s better to visit concerts and parties by large groups.
